This was truly a "barn find" Honda CR250R. Photos depicting the work performed during the refurbishment are presented in the gallery. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a multi-disc wet clutch with Tusk Racing clutch springs as well as a six-speed transmission and a gold-finished drive chain. No odometer or hour meter is equipped, therefore total mileage is unknown. The black handlebar features a parking-mechanism and was fitted with a replacement clutch lever, light switch, and ignition switch on the left as well as a front brake lever and a thumb throttle on the right. The hydraulic disc brake calipers were overhauled and fitted with replacement rotors, while the three-wheeler features drilled rotors, stainless-steel braided hoses, and a replacement rear master cylinder. Overhauled suspension consists of an air-adjustable 39mm trailing-axle fork with polished lowers as well as a Pro-Link linkage and remote-reservoir monoshock secured to the tapered aluminum swingarm. Gold-anodized alloy wheels measuring 11″ up front and 9″ at the rear wear replacement Kenda front and Hoosier rear tires. Equipment includes a six-speed manual transmission, adjustable suspension, front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, a kickstarter, an electronic ignition module, a VForce3 reed valve, a replacement high-mount exhaust system, and a refinished rear grab bar. Additional work included replacing the carburetor, tires, handlebar control switch, mounting hardware, headlight, taillight, and brackets along with fitting an XFR polished rear skid, billet BDT case saver, Tusk Racing clutch springs, an IMS Racing clutch lever, and aluminum three-core radiators and silicone hoses. Work performed during the refurbishment included replacing the fuel tank and fenders, overhauling the suspension and brakes, reupholstering the blue vinyl seat, refinishing the wheels, and overhauling the 246cc two-stroke single with a replacement water pump, gaskets, and seals. This 1986 Honda ATC 250R is said to have been kept in longterm storage in Arkansas until it was acquired in 2021 by the seller and relocated to Texas where a subsequent mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment was carried out by the seller and completed in November 2022. ![]()
